Who qualifies for Medicare home health?
Medicare covers home health when a person is homebound, needs intermittent skilled nursing or therapy, is under a clinician's plan of care, and has had a face-to-face visit related to the reason for home care.
Homebound does not mean bedbound: leaving home takes considerable effort, and absences are infrequent or for medical care, religious services or adult day care. Medicare does not cover 24-hour care or homemaker services on their own.
